You might find yourself admiring beautiful homes I link here and elsewhere.. like myself… Start thinking loudly, be creative, brainstorm and ask yourself:
- Can I create a similar ambiance? {Yes, you can.. Make a list of things you admire.}
- How much money can I set aside for this upgrade? {big or small it does not matter – use your creativity and take small steps}
Once you have your budget and wish list:
- Start with a fresh coat of paint. Maybe the exact color scheme you fell in love might just work in your own room.
- Try to rearrange, upholster or get a stylish sofa cover for your existing furniture before you start shopping. Revamp your room with additional seating options – chairs, recliners, ottomans, benches, bean bags etc.,
- Revisit your accessories – lamps, rugs, curtains, pillows, wall decor, vases etc., Bargain hunt and replace the ones that don’t match your style anymore. Move some of them around.
- Purge unused, unwanted, out of date and out of style things from the room. Keep your room clutter-free.
- Keep overall functionality of the room as is or even better.
Depending on your budget, it might be practical to do a few changes at a time. Which is not a bad idea – you could pause and enjoy every little upgrade you make towards looking like the homes you admire. Finally, enjoy your upgrade!
Thank you for the post Vidya! Sofa choices are always the make or break part for me. I’ve seen a whole range of Philadelphia upholstery stores just to get one chair, let alone a big couch!
Thank you Jamie for stopping by and commenting! Sofas are not easy to replace, therefore even I feel the same. You can easily replace accessories like lamps, rugs, etc., and easy to re-paint the walls too.. but Sofas.. you have to be so careful before you pick the fabric etc., Love the site you sent me.. nice selection.
