I’ve never enjoyed baking cookies or bread because of the batter-trapping wire whisks. And, I don’t own a fancy food processor. I was not aware of tools like Danish dough whisk and BakeitFun baking mats until I got these to review. It’s no secret that I love kitchen gadgets and glad to add these two products to my collection! I put both these baking tools to test and here’s my honest review followed by photographs.
Whisk quickly doughs and batters without over mixing. It’s sturdy, and the dough moves through the loops in an interesting way. I believe the flow-through design of this whisk allows dough to pass through three loops in succession, quickly mixing the ingredients. I had to finally bring the dough together with my hands, maybe, because the quantity I used was too less for this large whisk. It is made of professional food grade stainless steel and the wooden handle ensures a firm grip. Clean-up is easy before the dough dries up on the whisk.
The silicone mat works really well too. The rules and measuring circles make it so easy to align the dough, something children would love when baking cookies. It comes with a non-stick surface, therefore there is no need to butter it up. All you have to do is lift off the mat, and cookies will automatically slide down. There is a mesh embedded into it to help distribute the heat. Mat measures 16 ½” x 11” and 0.75 mm and can be reused up to 2000 times. That’s a huge saving on wax or parchment paper and cooking spray. BTW, these mats can be used in up to 450 degrees. My only comment is, it would be easy to pull it out of the oven if it slightly thicker.
The whisk helped me make the dough and the mat perfectly baked my cookies! Well, I’m not a food blogger nor a baker! 🙂
Well I have found a new love for baking since Pinterest has come along. However, I like old school spoons and mixers.
I have never seen a whisk like that. I do love those silicone mats I have to admit. Green with envy.
That’s a pretty cool whisk! I’m not a baker at all – I actually don’t like doing it whatsoever. There’s so much to know with baking, and so much room for screwing up! That’s why I like cooking – you can almost always fix a dish when cooking. 🙂
Will it be better if the silicon baking mat is thicker? I have been thinking if using one will be advantageous or using wax paper is enough.
I agree with you! It would be easier to lift it from the oven if the mat was slightly thicker.
Just like you, baking is not my cup of tea. I love cooking but not baking. Our baking tools here at home is for hubby and daughter who love to bake!
I have been wanting to try the silicone mats!! I had not heard of the Danish Dough Whisk before.
I’ve never seen a whisk like that. Very interesting. Im sure its a lot easier to clean than a regular one. I really need to get one of those silcone mats.
It’s always nice to have a kitchen fully stocked with the best tools. These look like they are a great addition to your home.
I love your comments as a non baker. I want a silicone may like that
These are great! We plan to go out tomorrow to buy some new bakeware.
That danish dough whisk is interesting I never used one before! Also that silicone baking mat is something I would definitely use!
My husband and I have a silicone mat for our baking sheet. It was one of the best investments we ever made! Makes clean-up so much easier.
These look like fun tools! I’ve been wanting a silicon mat. It would be wonderful for cookies and having them be a uniform size with the guide on the mat.
It’s just amazing what little kitchen gadgets can do to improve the way we bake and cook. I love baking mats myself. They make everything seem to bake more even. Baking seems to be much easier anymore.
I have been wanting one of those silicone mats for a long time now. They seem really convenient and definitely make baking easier.
That whisk is very unique! I would love to try it. I like that the clean up is very easy because that is my least favorite part about a darn whisk. lol. Also, I am a HUGE fan of silicone baking mats. They make clean up and baking 10x easier! I love that you don’t have to worry about the dreadful sticking. Great review! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Cookies looks so good. I love your write up. Nw my mouth is watering to come and taste your delicious cookies. So proud of you 🙂
