Don’t you love the idea of not dealing with total strangers when you are buying or selling home goods, electronics, fashion accessories and kids items! I’m never comfortable negotiating with someone I don’t know anything about especially when it comes to buying or selling used goods. I always feel like I need additional information – if I have to meet this person, or if this person has to come to my house to pick up a rather heavy item. If you are like me, then you should check out the Close5 App. This app is available on iPhone and Android. It’s simple to use, and will let you buy or sell for free within 5 mile radius securely. You also have access to everyone’s public profile, which gives you an idea of who you are dealing with from the very beginning.
Here’s how it works:
1. Download the app on your iPhone or Android cell phone.
2. Set up your profile. Review the community guidelines.
3. Take photos using the in-app camera and post it in the community.
4. You can negotiate the price of the items that you are selling or buying via secured messaging. The whole transaction can be dealt without having to give out your address, phone number or even email address. Simply comment on items available for sale and with a click of a button and make an offer!
5. Finally, arrange a meeting with 5 mile radius and you are all set.
What do you think of this App? Is this something for you? I think this is a safe and easy way to buy and sell locally…all from a cell phone! I think this is way better than Craigslist..
Sounds like Close5 is good for free stuff but I’ve sold over 100 items on Craigslist & eBay and not one buyer was within 5 miles. To get the most money for your items you’ll need a bigger audience. With Close5 all you’ll be doing is texting back and forth. Craigslist is safe if you ask for their phone number and you call the buyer. Use *67 on your phone to block your number when you call and meet a public place.
I’ve never heard of this app before, but I’m definitely intrigued. Thank you so much for sharing!
That’s interesting. I am sure it is an american based app and would work best in large centers.
Wow, I should try this. This is new for an online buying and selling local.
What a great app. I have a few things that I could down size on.
This is my first time hearing of this app. I have to check them out.
What a neat app, I’m going to have to check it out. Thanks for sharing.
What a great idea!! I hope this catches on because listing things on Craigslist and other sites is becoming a little sketchy these days.
What a great idea! I would for sure use this app!
I’m looking forward to listing a few items on this app after the holidays when its time to get rid of some “extra” toys!
