Colorful Indian Homes

I’m thrilled to share colorful Indian homes from Chennai, Southern India today! I’m here on a short vacation and glad to take some time off to write this blog post. Indian homes are typically decorated in rich colors, and intricate patterns weaved in exotic textiles. Ornate furniture in dark wood is more common in ethnic homes; whereas, the newer and more modern homes are leaning towards using the lighter color.  Ethnic touches are also created by adding a few exotic accessories and centerpieces made out of brass. Buddha and Ganesha idols and statues are common in this decor style. I’ve always felt very relaxed midst the colors and glam.

I fell in love with each and every one of these living rooms I’ve shared here. They are – colorful, lively, eclectic, cozy, charming and absolutely stunning. Do you agree with me? Look forward to hearing from you! I hope enjoy this post and do come back for more on Indian color and decor..

  1. Please accept this comment in the spirit it’s meant. You used the verb, “weaved”. You need, “woven”. It’s “weave, wove, woven” . In your line of work, you need that word a lot. I hope I’m helping. I really, really don’t want to offend anyone. Thanks for the wonderful post.i happen to Love Indian decor.
