Holman Ranch – Wine and Olive Oil Review

Holman Ranch is a 400 acre property that is surrounding by Santa Lucia Mountains. They are located 12 miles from the Pacific Ocean and pretty close to the quaint town of Carmel-by-the-Sea. It has become a venue for weddings, special events and corporate retreats. They have been around since 1928 and have hosted celebrities such as Charlie Chaplin.

This vinery grows – Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc. I requested Pinot Noir for review and I give it a 5 star rating. I loved the subtle yet fruity flavor of this wine, and I totally enjoyed this with my meal.  I also loved their Olive Oil which is harvested by hand around December time, then milled to produce a high quality Olive Oil. It had a light aroma, just enough to bring out the rich flavor of the olives. An interesting fact is that their olive trees are alternate bearing, which means that one year they may produce 650, 375ml bottles worth of oil, while next year they may produce only 50, 375ml bottles. I highly recommend to try wines and olive oils from Holman Ranch during this holiday season.. you will not be disappointed!
