Latest Edition of BHG – Color Palette of the Year

Better Home and Garden Magazine March 18th Cover
Better Home and Garden’s latest magazine hits newsstands on March 18th and features one of my favorite topics — Color Palette of the Year! Here’s what the chief editor has to say, followed by the corresponding colors that the magazine have picked:

“We can all use a little more color in our lives, and vibrant, on-trend color is exciting to try,”says Gayle Butler, Editor-in-Chief, Better Homes and Gardens. “Our Color Palette of the Year brings readers a collection of the most on-trend colors that translate beautifully into real homes and rooms. Our collection of seven hues offers unlimited possibilities to find a look and make it your own.”

1. Cobalt: It’s the biggest news in fashion, wearable for anyone and any room. Indigo Cloth 4009-7 (Valspar available at Lowe’s).

2. Yellow: Pulled from the sun, this energetic color brings a happy mood. Sunday Afternoon T14-19 from Behr Paint at The Home Depot.

3. Lavender: Pale purple with gray undertones make an easy-to-live-with cool color combo. OBI Lilac SW6556 from Sherwin-Williams.

4. Apple Green: This leaf-inspired hue is just like the greens in nature–a colorful neutral. Elm Valley B32-6 at your local ACE Hardware.

5. Chambray: This mid-range blue hue is timeless and looks great with anything. Blue Jean 2062-50 from Benjamin Moore.

6. Coral: This pretty poppy explores the trend of adventurous brights. Haiku 4-7 from Pratt & Lambert.

7. Beige: Aim for a naturally warm-toned beige, like pebbles in sand. Navajo White D12-1 from Olympic.

I can’t wait to see the actual color swatches..

  1. Apple green eh? I am decorating or trying to. I am not a huge fan of lavender but I do see a lot of it. I am also seeing a lot of mirror looks – mirror on tables, nightstands etc.
