We live in a 60+ year old home and no matter how clean it is, there is always something that creeps out. I can’t stand the sight of spiders or bugs inside my home. I think they belong in our yard! I’m always in the lookout for ways to keep pests outside. A rather small product called the Ultrasonic Pest Repeller made by Brillante was offered to me to review. I’ve been using this product for almost 3 weeks now and I’m not seeing any crawling bugs or spiders inside my home. Interestingly, this product not only takes care of the bugs problem, it also eliminates odors and germs!
The ultrasonic pest repeller has four built-in functions –
- It creates ultrasonic sound waves intended to disturb or drive pests away. This sound is outside the spectrum audible to humans.
- Electromagnetic field is altered to repel in-wall insects that are sensitive to electromagnetic variations.
- Negative ion is generated to reduce airborne particles, microbes and odors that help attract pests.
- And finally, O3 / ozone feature helps with reducing indoor bacteria and virus levels.
There has been various studies on how effective these devices are, and what bugs react and not react to the sounds and electromagnetic fields. I personally prefer this to traps and poisons in the house as long as it is effective. So far, we are not seeing tiny insects, ants, or spiders. We are also seeing less of spider webs in the garage. It is hard to test the other features like – cleaner air, reduction in bacteria, virus levels, and airborne particles in such a short time.
I’ve also read that, house pets might get stressed out with the disturbing sound waves which we cannot hear. I believe, these pets do get accustomed to this noise and they don’t try to run away like the other bugs. Well, it is still better than the pets swallowing toxic chemicals that are meant to trap the bugs. Overall, I think this is a good investment. Here are a few pictures of how it looks.
Disclaimer: I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
What an interesting product? Does it keep all kinds of pests like mosquitoes. Mosquitoes are my problems here.
This looks cool. I just recently moved into a house but haven’t had any pest problems and I hope it stays that way. #ProductReviewParty
This sounds like an awesome product indeed. I so can’t stand spiders or even ants and this would be perfect for my back porch with all the spiders I get in there every year. Thanks for sharing.
Love this. We live on a marshy piece of land that has a ton of pests. This would certainly help our problem. I’m anti chemical too, so this is a good choice.
This looks like a neat repeller. I hate having to use chemicals in my house. I have kids and dogs that are always where the chemicals are sprayed.
I hate spiders! They definitely need to stay outside! I could do with one of these devices!
I hate when I see Spiders too. It always seems to happen when it’s really wet outside. I will have to get some of these.
I have seen Ultrasonic Pest Repeller products in the store and have often wondered if they worked. If they did work, how well did they work. I live in the country, surrounded by corn fields. Pests sometimes find their way in.
This is interesting. I would like to give this a try. For the past two years we have had a fly problem and have no idea where they come from. They are getting into the house probably from between a wall somewhere.
Now that is what I need especially of the coming of Spring. Ants are my biggest worry during Spring, with snow thawing out, they seem to find a way inside my house all the time! Wonder if this will work with ants?
These are really great. I got after seeing several spiders. So far I’ve not seen any since plugging it in.
Good to know about this. I can’t stand the sight of spiders and bugs inside our house either especially the stink bugs. Will check this out.
Living in a high rise we rarely get bugs (thank god) but this could be really useful for those in a house! Thanks for sharing.
Our home is not that old but things still creep me out. This would be great to have in any household. Thanks for the review.
We live in an area with lots of spiders and other creepy crawlies. Fortunately, they seem to stay outside most of the time and not bother us but it would be nice to have a chemical-free way to get rid of them if they came inside.
I need a couple of these in my house! We get lots of insects and mosquitoes at home. Spiders freak me out. 🙁
Before we got our cats we had mice every now and then due to there being 3 large fields w/in a block of our home as well as a set of train tracks and a freeway, not to mention the factories 2 blocks down, all of these places harbor mice and god knows what else, but we had similar devices plugged in which helped keep these pests away and either they “run out” or they haven’t seemed to bother our cats. Our cats actually sleep right on the arm of the couch above one of the devices. Great review and always good to point out possibilities that most of us wouldn’t think of.
Thanks for pointing this out! Glad your cats are not disturbed by these devices..
Whoa! I am absolutely intrigued! I am one of those who absolutely detest insects. I don’t usually see any in my home, but the warmer months are coming and that’s when the bugs start to come out! 🙁
I’m definitely checking this out! Pest control can be really a problem in my house!
I would love something like this…we get a lot of pests in the summertime!
I need this in my life! I have nothing more than bugs.
Oh my gosh this sounds like the best thing ever. There seems to be a wave of pests that like to sneak into my house around spring.
It seems like any pest you can think of, I’ve seen around my house! I could really use this!
My niece is horrified of spiders. I’m going to tell her about this pest repeller. Glad to hear that it worked!
I wonder if our Great Dane could get used to these. We have a bad problem with ants where we live and this could really come in handy.
This looks great. I live in the south, and it’s pest central down here. It would be nice to keep them away without some kind of caustic chemical.
