I think we can all agree on this – a rocking motion immediately comforts our mind and body. A few moments on a rocking chair are both pleasing and rejuvenating. To a mother, singing a lullaby on a rocking chair is a cherished memory that can never be erased. Similarly, to the elderly, rocking is the most relaxing passing time. These feel so different from recliners and sofa’s.. one has to experience the sensation – I bet we have all somewhere! I couldn’t resist sharing historical photographs of rocking chairs on porches. In the modern era, these have taken various shapes, colors and textures and have moved into the homes. In this page, I’ve shared my favorite styles.. hope you like them!

Thanks Annette! All moms love that feeling 🙂
Love-love-love- them all. My grandmother and I use to sit in rocking chairs on her front porch during summer and fall evenings …this post reminds me of that and bring those wonderful feelings back.
Thank you! I’m so glad to see your comment and that you feel the same way as I do!
I too love a rocking chair. You’ve found some very interesting ones too. Inspires me to search one out for the porch!
Glad I could inspire you 🙂
