How often do you come across archways inside homes? I’ve seen a few styles in Spanish, Indian and Moorish homes, but they can also fit perfectly in other types of spaces. It’s relatively easy to create an archway, but squares and rectangles are much more common in traditional homes. Even though archways are often picturesque architectural elements of historical buildings, they can still add a trendy touch to modern rooms. They can transform a cramped space into a modern, chic, eclectic, and grand room. Don’t you think so?
I’ve noticed that, in these examples, the arches have an amazing impact on hallways, passages, and windows. This goes to show that a single structural feature can add a lot to the room and allow the whole area to open up. Arches are most functional and beautiful when found between two rooms or above a window. This architectural element can be stunning when it brightens up a room and allows it to open up.
Finally, given a choice, where would you like to place an arch – between two rooms or above your window? Aren’t these eye candy?

My parents house has an arch in the hallway and an arch window on the first floor. It’s such a beautiful feature, I’d love one in my future home.
I love the Arch design when it is tying together two spaces in a long room. I have a friend who has the arch to connect her living room and dining room; it helps to break up the spaces even though it’s connected.
I love the archway design! It’s so beautiful and lets so much light in through windows and makes rooms look so much bigger! I could definitely use one of these to separate my living room and homeschool room!

I would see a lot of homes in the Northern States with a lot of Archway. Since I’ve been in the south not so much. Most homes down here are custom built. I do have to admit an archway brings in so much character in a home. I love the arch windows. Beautiful pictures to use as an example. There are some archways between rooms in some of the older NYC apartments. I have always loved the look of them. I also like the way those windows look with arches!
