I feel so incredibly blessed and thankful to have Kizhanatham A Jagannathan as my uncle. Our lives are enriched by the people we spend our time with and how they influence us. He has been an incredible role model for me. He is strong-willed, intelligent, and very young at heart. I admire him tremendously! My uncle is a globetrotter, and his stories have always transported me as if I was visiting those places myself. He is also a diver, snorkeler, and enjoys underwater photography. So far, he ... The sun is bright. Fresh produce is in abundance. Vivid flowers are dancing in wind. I can't help sharing refreshing flower vases that are exotic and quite simple to recreate. Filling in pineapples with delicate flowers, layering tiny blooms in between asparagus and pea pods, and making pots out of cantaloupes, cabbages and watermelons are ideas that have never occurred to me. Also, I like the idea of poking daisies into lemons and limes. Green apples, green grass and gerbera's when put ... [ Read More ]

I fondly remember my grandma relaxing on our front porch with the sweetest smile on her face. Colorful Salads
Other than, carrots, cucumbers, and tomatoes, I don't recollect eating any other raw vegetable until a few years ago. The vegetables I've relished were typically steamed and cooked in a curry sauce. The curry would dominate leaving the aroma of fresh produce behind. Even the color, texture and intricate details of fresh vegetables such as beets, tomatoes, radishes, etc., would disappear. Now, I thoroughly enjoy colorful vegetable salads, especially when presented as the ones below! Mother ... [ Read More ]
Xeriscaping, Drought Tolerant Land Cover
Xeriscaping - landscape (an area) in a style which requires little or no irrigation. Xeriscaping is a water conservation concept that originated in Colorado and now spreading across the United States. It is not the same as "zero-scaping", where you could fill the land with plants, sand, gravel and rocks. This style purely focuses on greenery. The goal is to create a garden and conserve water or ... [ Read More ]
